All of our driving instructors are licensed and certified by the DVSA as Approved Driving Instructors.
They have undergone rigorous training and have years of experience in teaching students how to drive safely and confidently.
All ADI must display their Green badge in their windscreen. You are entitled to ask to see it. If a badge is not present or presented on request and you are paying for lessons, you should report them to the DVSA asap and withdraw from training.
You can find ADI’s in your area by using the official gov website.
As well as ADI’s, you can receive training by a PDI, which is a Potential Driving Instructor. They display a Pink badge, generally cost slightly less. They are in their final stages of training which is monitored.

There’s no minimum number of lessons you must have or hours you must practise driving, but how long it takes to learn enough to become a safe and competent driver really depends on the individual.
It is impossible to set an expectation at the beginning, but as you progress through the syllabus your instructor will have a better idea and advise accordingly.
According to DVSA statistics, the average amount of hours for a learner to become proficient enough to take their test, is 47 hours of professional tuition along with 20 hours of private practice.
